Best Of Dublin: Brother Hubbard Café

1.10.2016

153 Capel Street, Dublin 1
On the North side of the city, just a short walk from the back of Jervis Street shopping centre.

A small, independent café with impeccable presentation skills and a great atmosphere. From coffee to cakes and brunch, Brother Hubbard have a great menu that suits all. They also have another café called Sister Sadie on the other side of the city, although I've yet to try it yet!

The hot chocolate, for sure (pictured above). You pour the warm chocolate milk into the ganache and stir to create the most velvety hot chocolate you'll taste in the city. If you're a chocolate lover like me, you'll love this (and the price too- only €3.50, and you get about 3 cups out of the jug). They have a wide range of freshly made cakes and pastries too. I had the almond and orange cake which was delicious, while my friend had the granola bowl. Coffee lovers will be extremely impressed with the coffee art- just look at the cappucino below!

I met my friend for a coffee and catch up in Brother Hubbard today after hearing so much about the place. It was definitely worth the visit! Be prepared to wait- we had to wait for 15 minutes for a table because it was so busy. They have a separate takeaway shop next door which is perfect for those on the go. The staff were all extremely friendly, and there was such a lovely atmosphere inside. I'll definitely be making this place one of my regulars!

You can read more about Brother Hubbard and check out their menus here.
